Extra Yarn
Do you have somebody in your life that knits or crochets? My mother was an avid crocheter and my grandmother loved to knit. We have very special blankets that both have made D before she was born. They are some of the most special items we were gifted at my baby shower.
When I first saw this book I bought it with out reading it first. It reminded me of my mom with the yarn connection. As I read it, my love for it grew!
The illustrations start off in black and white and over the course of the story become colorful. A little girl finds a box of magical yarn, when she starts making sweaters for the members of the town she slowly transforms it for the better. It shows. Beautiful tale of how one person can change the world and it make it a beautiful place.
One of my favorite things about books is that different people can get different messages from the same book.
I highly suggest you read this book to any child! I would love to hear what they think of the book and how it made them feel, if you take a video, I would love to see it! There is nothing better then hearing children discuss books. Happy reading!
