25 Stocking Stuffers
Some of my favorite gifts to shop for are stocking stuffers! I love fun little gifts that bring some joy and can even better if they are useful.
I try to cap the cost at under $10-$15 an item otherwise the stocking stuffers can add up to more than the “hero” gift. Below are 25 awesome finds!
Books-
Minute Mysteries
There are five books in this series, but the Christmas version is perfect to go in stockings. There are fifteen short mysteries in this book that kids can work though.
Reading Logbook
This is something I would love to receive! We read so many books that we could probably fill these in within a week, but these would be a great place to fill in our favorite books! Be sure to check out the kid’s version AND the one for adults!
Mad Libs
Who doesn’t love mad lib?! I love that you are secretly working on we’re classifications. Plus, this set is stocking shaped making it extra fun!
Dover Little Activity Books
There are so many fun little books! These are perfect to stick in your purse for on the go or the littles to carry on their own. Be aware they are only about the size of your palm but there are some amazing options to choose from!
Jokes Books
Why are kids so bad at telling jokes? Either knock know jokes or regular jokes my daughter says the worst jokes and she knows it! We have a few joke books for various topics, and they have improved. I almost feel that this is a learning necessity!
Reading Acessories-
Book light clip
I am constantly catching D reading in bed… It definitely is not my favorite thing because she should be sleeping, but reading is not a bad thing!
Silly animal magnetic bookmarks
I love magnetic bookmarks. We use them all the time but I get tired to D stealing mine! These are just silly enough that I think she will stop stealing mine.
Lock ness monster bookmark
Who doesn’t want to spot the infamous lock ness monster?! This cute bookmark is one of those things I would never buy for myself but would enjoy way too much…. That makes a perfect gift! And it is under $10 making it an affordable gift for anybody.
Book stamp
Be warned, I think it may be addictive to stamp your name in a book. I like to add a quick review next to my stamp or even a simple rating out of 5 stars… we mainly buy used books, and I wish some of the previous owners left their review!
Personal Accessories -
Welly bandages
My daughter keeps bandages in her gym bag because it’s surprising how many times people need one! I am constantly buying them, so in the stocking they go!
Hair Clips
WHY are these so cute?! I find my daughter “borrows” my cute hair clips quite often… at least these are “educational”.
Shhh I am reading socks
These socks are amazing! I will not be sad if these are in my stocking too!
Lip smackers
Where do all the ChapSticks go? I can never find one when I need it so I always put lip balm in stockings. I am also a sucker for packing and this mini soda machine is adorable!
Necklace
The beauty of this necklace is its simplicity. Many girls would like it from a variety of ages! My 10-year-old is getting it this year and I know she will wear it A LOT!
Book enamel pin
When I was younger, I would wear pins on my sweaters all the time… I would have loved these!
Desk Acessories-
Book lovers water bottle stickers
What kid does not like to add stickers to their water bottle? I even love to add them to my water bottles. These book themed ones will be going on Ds stocking this year!
Marble colored pens
Do your kids write endless notes?! These pens are a fun way to add some flair to notes, planners and diaries. Your kids will love the colors of these pens.
Magnetic poetry
When I was a kid had an insane amount of magnetic poetry. Granted I grew up in the late 90s/ early 2000’s. I actually still have some of it and we use it while homeschooling as a “brain break” where D makes silly sentences for the heck of it.
Magnetic fidget pen
At the beginning of the school year, D was gifted on of these by her teacher of record at our charter school. It is surprisingly fun! We have always loved magnets but combined with a pen and they are even more fun!
Clear View Highlighters
This idea is amazing. I do not love when people highlight in books but there are reasons, I encourage it. What about a word you do not know? Highlight it!
Educational Items -
Math Dice Jr. Game
We love quick and easy on the go games. They would great for when we are early to classes or at the park. Bonus, this one helps enforce basic math facts!
Mini Science kits
There are so many great science activities that come in small packages! I personally love the mentos geyser kit and instant snow is a great option if you live in an area that do not get snow (like me!).
Hatching Dragon Eggs
These eggs are a fun project that takes a day or two to finish. As they soak in water, the dragon inside expands forcing the egg to break. it is fun to see the progress from the crack in the egg to part of the dragon starting to stick out… but beware, the texture of the animal can be a little weird!
Other Ideas-
Harry Potter Chocolate Frog
Any Potter fan would love to get a chocolate frog! It is nice to get a treat in your stocking and to have it tie in with a book is even better!
Adorable Duck Book Ends
Okay, these might be slightly too heavy for a stocking but what about holding the stocking? Because LOOK how cute these are!
Glass Cup
In our house lids on cups are a must. Both my daughter and I make a lot of hand heaters while talking…. We have spilled a few too many times for my husband.
Mini Brands Books
Everything is cuter in mini form! Even books! I have seen a cool trend to make mini books for the books you read for the year, but I do not have the patience for that. These are very fun to play with.
